Harriet serves as a member of the board of directors and is the head of the global education program of Africa Global Missions which exists to train and empower Christians to grow deeper in their knowledge of God and to be agents of transformation in their respective spheres of influence.

In 2015 and 2016, Harriet went to Uganda, as a faculty member for the North American School of Theology, to teach bishops, pastors, and school administrators how to create, improve upon, or merge church schools. By doing this, she was able to help the class participants transcend barriers, such as tribal and denominational differences, to work for the greater good of providing education to needy areas. She was successful in being the conduit of creation, improvement, and cultivation of new relationships regarding 20 church school academies in Uganda. Harriet believes that innovation in creating optimal educational experiences for students will better society. Learning is meant to be a lifelong activity. Each thing a person learns is a building block leading to the next part of their life.

Her philosophy is to use her experiences to help others and be used as an informational resource for the new generations of students to come.

About the school:

Faith Covenant Academy is 35 years old. It was founded by Pastor Mike and Dr. Kathy Maze. It is a home school cover school and an alternative to conventional education. Harriet Rand took the helm in 2013 and has witnessed exponential growth since then. Faith Covenant Academy is a self-paced, non-digital program with two graduation ceremonies per year. Post-graduation, our graduates move on to 2-year and 4-year colleges, trade schools, the military, and the workforce. We have dual enrollment with six different colleges and are listed in the NCAA Clearinghouse for students continuing their athletic career at the collegiate level. We offer an alternative for students whose situations or aspirations do not fit into the public-school model.
